Dana M. Whitfield is a trial attorney in the personal injury department of Sacco & Fillas, LLP. Ms. Whitfield’s practice focuses on representing plaintiffs in complex civil litigation with large insurance companies and various New York City agencies and municipalities. She has represented clients in the Court of Appeals, Supreme Courts of the State of New York, Federal Court of the Eastern District of New York and the Office of the Attorney General. Presently, Ms. Whitfield’s practice area is concentrated in negligence issues involving automobile, premises and slip and fall accidents. She has successfully advocated for hundreds of clients and has obtained awards and trial verdicts in cases ranging from simple to life altering injuries.

Ms. Whitfield began her career in the entertainment law field representing various artists and record companies. She continues to work in artist management and contract litigation.

Externally, Ms. Whitfield is a member of the Metropolitan Bar Association, New York State Trial Lawyers Association, New York County Lawyers Association, Brooklyn Bar Association, Women’s Bar Association and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Ms. Whitfield is a public speaker and advocate for End Distracted Driving and Black Girls Rock, programs targeting youth of color.

She was published in The New York Law Journal (January 31, 2005) in the case of New York Central Mutual Fire Ins. Co. v. Alfred L. Dukes, for her successful appellate work in a Article 75 proceeding directing an insurance carrier to defend and indemnify its insured.

Pro Bono: Ms. Whitfield is an arbitrator in the Small Claims assisting litigants in the resolution of claims who cannot afford an attorney.
